v3.0 [Oct 27, 2008]
New Features:
Streamlined inventory management: If you're an AbeBooks bookseller, any time you make a change or an addition to your Listings or Wants, HomeBase 3.0 automatically sends them to AbeBooks.
Multi-select: Up to 100 listings or wants may be selected and edited/deleted at once. For example, if you realise you mis-typed an author's name on 5 listings, you could select them all, make the update once, and the edit would be applied to all 5 listings.
Improved PricePartner: Built into HomeBase 3.0, PricePartner is a powerful application that allows you to quickly and easily adjust the prices of selected or all books listed in HomeBase 3.0. You may select a sub-set of your listings and increase or decrease prices by a fixed amount or by a percentage on only those listings. You can also update all selected listings to the same price.
ISBN LookUp (available to registered booksellers only): ISBN LookUp will now return more than one result if we have multiple matches tothe ISBN in our database. You can choose the best match from the list. In addition, many more fields may be returned by ISBN LookUp and you can choose which you’d like to keep and which you’d would prefer to ignore.
Quantity: If you have more than one copy of a book, you can use the quantity field and we’ll automatically decrease the quantity online when a book is sold; no more manual re-listing!
More Import Options: HomeBase 3.0 can import most common standard file formats and allows you to import custom delimited file formats, so getting set up is easy. We recommend that you back up your current inventory file before importing the data into HomeBase 3.0.
v3.0 beta [Dec 12, 2011]
Improved import functions:
Missing fields during import have been corrected.
Mapping a seller’s terms during custom imports has been greatly improved.
Improved export functions:
Missing fields during export have been corrected.
AbeBooks ‘Valid/Invalid’ column has been added to the default columns – this helps sellers to easily identify listings that have failed validation and will not be sent to AbeBooks.
‘Add/Edit Listing’ screen has been improved:
‘Description’ is now included in the main tab
Publisher fields have been simplified (‘Year Text’ has been removed; ‘City’,‘Province/State’, and ‘Country’ have been replaced by ‘Publisher Place’)
Quantity field has been simplified: 1 or more = ‘For Sale’; 0 = ‘Sold’ or 'Unavailable'; ‘On hold’ is no longer an option.
Default language for a listing is now the same as the language selected during HB 3 installation. (Spell-check for languages other than English is not built in but is available as an add-on.)
Messaging has been improved when sellers send updates to AbeBooks, making it easier for sellers to know if their updates were successful.
When migrating from HomeBase 2.3 to 3.0, HomeBase 3 automatically searches the default location for an hbdata.hbd file. This makes it far easier for sellers using HomeBase 2.3 to migrate to HomeBase 3.0.
‘ISBN Lookup’ will return multiple matches if more than one exists in our data
base, allowing sellers to choose the best match for the book in hand.
A 'Group By' function has been added, allowing sellers to group listings by their chosen criteria, i.e. by price, author, condition, etc.
A built-in Update function. Simply follow these steps:
Launch HomeBase 3.0. It may check automatically for updates, but if not...
